101 More Amazing Places to Chowdown
My family and I are from out of town. We seen the billboard and a flyer.
Decided to give it a try…
Sweet bbq…. love it!!!! The food is great . It tasted like it was all
homemade. Ribs. brisket. Pulled pork. Ham. Mashed potatoes. Green beans. Full
salad bar. And the pies. Cobbler. Brownies. Wow !!! Soooo good !!!
We will recommend this restaurant to everyone. .
The only thing is the restaurant is a little dated, country like .. but the
FOOD… sooo worth it !!
Try it ……
Went on a hot Portland late afternoon during a heat wave. While the happy hour
was ok, we had two amazing burgers here. The food was pretty damned good. Just
burgers and fries but good. We were very happy with our dinner to be sure.
Tuesday $2 PBR night seems like it is a good deal.
Like most have mentioned- this place is a must go and must see in boston.
Location is convenient, right outside the Harvard campus in Harvard square. The
staff are chill and welcoming but not in your face friendly.
I read about local places to visit before coming into town and this place
seemed to be the place to visit.
I first came here for a bacon/beer tasting. Since then I am hooked. The tasting
was interesting, and they told you what parts of the pig was each cut, and why
they paired the beer with the bacon.
Omg, I have to agree with all the reviewers, the food here including that
brioche bun, wasabi slaw is amazing.
Probably the longest line at the treasure island flea market trucks but oh my
is it worth it. The fries are piled mountain high with all kinds f goodness,
pork, egg, bacon bits, jalapeños, chicken nuggets…and more, enough to feed
your whole group of friends.
Goats on Parade!!!! Well, they’re on the roof in summer months, and that’s
kinda nutty and cool. Al Johnson’s is a great stop for breakfast in Sister Bay,
but the menu actually looks like a good lunch/dinner place, as well.
Been here a couple of times, never let down. Growing up on southern soul food
this always hits the spot when I’m home sick. Real casual, relaxed spot for
some good food.
After trying the tuna melt, I began to think the reviews for Bunk Sandwiches
were a lot of “bunk.”
Go to Cantler’s for the EXPERIENCE. Yes, it’s a bit pricey. Yes, it’s extremely
messy. Yes, there will be an hour wait for a table. However, it is definitely
something to save up for whenever I know I’ll be visiting the area!
Awesome decor, a must try for fans of Belgian beer and great food to go with
it.
I bought a bottle of a Belgian quadruple cherry and washed down a very balanced
shrimp and grits. Their pumpkin and chorizo risotto fritters and beer cheese
soup were awesome. My girlfriend had a salmon burger with fried Brussels
sprouts and sundried tomatoes - really really tasty and balanced.
Liked it so much, we grabbed lunch the next day on our way out of town. If I
lived here, I’d be back every week.…
Docked a star for being incredibly overpriced, in my humble opinion. They are
obviously charging prices that tourists and those seeking NOLA institutions are
willing to pay. Maybe I have just only had poboys at really low brow places.
However, I found the staff to be friendly and the service to be quick. My
catfish poboy was a large portion (I got a “small” which is essentially a
normal sized poboy, a large is like a poboy and a half). The bread was fresh,
the catfish was perfectly…
Soundbox saved the game. Food was good and the place was clean.
Gail Ambrosius’ chocolates are fantastic. She has created a wide range of
truffle flavors, all of which are blow-your-mind decadent. Less-adventurous (or
I suppose, more kindly, ‘classic’) eaters will love the caramels and the
vanilla (More adventurous will as well, but they’ll be willing to try more
exotic flavors without trepidation…). I think my current favorites are sweet
curry with saffron & shiitake, but each truffle is distinct and delicious in
its own…
The Legendary Gillieys I heard so much about. Everyone loved Gilley who ran the
giant covered food cart. Most people did not know that Gilley the friendly face
and personality did not own it. Well the legendary food is still there great
with hot dogs, homemade Boston baked beans. But the legendary service was gone
that day we came in which is probably why there was only one other customer.
The man at the counter that day will set a new record for being able to
alienate every customer with the…
Ya know what, I would have given them a 3 star review (it always seemed like we
had to flag down a waitress), but the food was divey good (and affordable).
Their beers on tap were more than acceptable. They have outdoor seating, so my
dog could run around and play with the other dogs in back.
Second trip to New Orleans and I was all about going back to Gumbo Shop. I had
been once before the last time I was there, for brunch and I remember the food
being really good.
My work brings me to Ft Irwin maybe one or two times a year. I decided to take
a chance and eat at this restaurant. The trip is about 3 miles off US 15 but it
was really worth it.
I didn’t order my own meal but was able to get a feel for a lot of the
different foods that Jethros offers from scraps of my friends’ plates.
This is your classic diner experience. The waitresses are efficient and
sassy! The breakfast is very affordable priced and LARGE portions.
