Bizarre Foods America
It never fails, when I come home to visit it is a must to come to Morris’. Most
of their meats are smoked in house, the sides and soups are made in house as
well. There is a great selection of chips, beverage and soups. Sandwiches are
made to order and you can get basically any sandwich you want! The chicken
salad is so yummy I almost slap myself.
Now that I’ve moved away from Owensboro I crave Old Hickory even more! Their
barbecue is the best I’ve ever had. It doesn’t matter what type of meat you get
there, it is ALL delicious. My favorites are the chopped mutton and the
barbecued chicken but occasionally we get the sliced turkey.
A friend of mine wanted to check this out for lunch instead of eating the
conference food. So, we trecked several blocks and found the restaurant to be a
bit “Artsy”? Not complaining though.
The service was absolutely wonderful. The host and waiter were very nice. I
ordered the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad (w/o anchovies). It was delicious! The
salad wasn’t drowning in dressing. You’ll also be asked if you’d like some
bread–delish. Oh, and my friend had…
Wagner’s has been a staple for many Louisville folks for years and it is worth
the trip to get some of the best biscuits and gravy around. Prices are cheap
and if you like breakfast, you’re gonna love this place. The people that work
there are as friendly as can be and you’ll get a perfectly cooked egg every
time, any way you like it. If you go early, you will see lots of “horse
people”.
Went here over the weekend for a farewell party. We had reservations, so we got
to seated immediately. Lucky us we made the reservation and came a bit early
because a line started forming after 10mins we sat down. I haven’t came here
in a while because the last few times I was here I wasn’t happy about the price
and flavor of the crawfish.
At the beginner of the year, I took a pledge to write 100 reviews by the end of
2013. I didn’t want to wasted #100 on just any establishment, so I chose
Gioia’s to complete my task!
Maybe it’s just because I can’t get the South County out of me, but I love this
place. Granted it’s a little smokey, the service can be slow, and the left
turn from Lindbergh can be a pain, but it’s still as good as a South County
dive can get.
My favorite restaurant in STL (well, neck-and-neck with Niche and that family
of restaurants).
My son loves Indian food. A good friend told me about this hidden secret. We
are from South Texas and we always stop here and load up on delicious food.
There Somoas are delicious! My sons favorite is Chicken curry with vegetable
curry and rice. The best I’ve eaten so far. I do recommend! You will not be
disappointed. The prices are also wonderful.
As a vegetarian, I knew I would be limited to Smoki O’s side dishes. But I was
delighted to find out that the barbequed spaghetti is vegetarian. I paired it
with some tasty green beans and cornbread.
A friend of mine who grew up in Clear Lake told me to check this place out. It
got good reviews so hubby and I decided to give it a try. We drove for 40
minutes to this place so it better be good! It’s kind of out in the middle of
nowhere. The parking lot was full, that’s a good sign. We walked up to the
restaurant and there’s plenty of seating outside and inside for those who
prefer air conditioning. No children and pets allowed and they only accept
cash. You seat…
My gf and I went on our first date to Catalan when Chris Shepard was there and
she just loved the lamb. It broke our heart when Catalan closed but we could
not wait to try Underbelly. We loved it! She got her lamb and was a happy girl.
Do I need to tell you how the tomato salad, a simple menagerie of the freshest
vegetables and a bit of bacon, serve as an excellent combination of textures
and as a substantial but light start to any meal?
Miss Myra’s is completely laid back, no frills, smokin’ yummy barbecue. You can
probably buy your aquarium fish here, too, and make it a twofer.
Located minutes from downtown Birmingham and one block south of Acipco, Eagle’s
Restaurant has been a fixture in this community since 1951. Family owned, our
tradition has always been to offer delicious food at affordable prices. We are
committed to serving the highest quality meats and vegetables available. With
the Jefferson County Farmers Market being only 1 mile away from our restaurant
we consistently have the freshest collard greens, cabbages, sweet potatoes,
lemons, bananas,…
Just got out of lunch at the downtown Birmingham location of Jim n Nicks –
fantastic! We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted with a basket of
warm cheddar biscuits…crack them open, watch the steam rise, and pop a few
down the chute!
“Ooh, baby do you know what that’s worth? Oh heaven is a place on Earth.”
That’s what was playing in my head when I stepped into the Muncan Food
Corporation. I swear I gained ten pounds just from smelling all of the
delicious smoked meats. My salivary glands are on full blast just typing this
review!
The food is fresh and very good most days, and the other reviews cover it
mostly, but i wanted to point out to those who are sensitive to it or have
dietary restrictions - WAY TOO MUCH SALT. I’ve been coming here since I was a
kid and still take my grandparents and kids here, so I obviously love it, but
just thought folks needed to know that.
Wow! Can’t say enough good things about this place. I have eaten here before
and remember being really impressed but after being reminded by Andrew Zimmermn
about this little gem, I had to go back.
This place is a Birmingham institution – my grandfather has been taking me
here since i was little. The food is nothing fancy but really authentic and
good. They have every kind of seafood you’re looking for.
