I’m not a vegetarian but came here because an aunt of mine is. However, I have to say the food here was DELICIOUS! We ordered so much food and not a single dish was considered bland! This is definitely a place I’d return to (with or without vegetarians)!

One summer day, when you wake up with an unquenchable thirst for BIER (that’s beer in Deutche) and a mysterious appetite for some scrumptious lamb kabobs, just let your nose lead you and you will smell your way to this little restaurant guarded by two Terracotta soldiers.

The boyf and I were in Madison for the weekend and decided to try this place out. We were a little worried that they don’t take reservations (especially after we got into town and realized it was Winter Fest), but the wait was really not long. When we walked in, there were a lot of people waiting, and the hostess told us it would be about 45 minutes. It was really only about 25 minutes. In the meantime, we grabbed a couple beers from the bar. It took a while to order them, but the…

The service was awesome, we had a reservation, and arrived early, so we had a drink at the bar. I’m not usually a fancy cocktail girl, but these fine tuned hand crafted cocktails aren’t a bad thing. The bartender, Aaron, was really nice and seemed quite vested in his drinks.
Our waiter was also awesome, he had some good advice, like the ribeye is a bigger portion than the rack of lamb, and even showed a bit of concern over just ordering a raviolo for my entree (I ate two other first…

The best salmon sandwich I’ve ever had. We came here three times in our 4 day stay in Sitka, which I think says a lot. As a visitor, it seemed to be the community center for so many folks in Sitka - we played board games there with friends we were visiting and even caught a little of the open mic. What a great vibe!

Ludvig’s is the best in Sitka, hands down. Excellent food, polite service, and Colette is a primo chef! It rivals downtown Seattle small restaurants, has a great atmosphere, and the food is fresh, fresh. Try the calamari - if it was prepared like this everywhere, squid would be an endangered species!

I decided to try this place out after seeing that their “Dad’s Killer Sandwich” won the award for Best Sandwich in Des Moines. So I headed over there on my lunch break. First off, one of the above reviews is correct, there is a musty/old odor in the air. I don’t necessarily think it’s from mold or moisture as much as it is from the place being so old. It’s been in the neighborhood for decades.

This is my consistently favorite fine dining experience in the Iowa City / Cedar Rapids area. A 30 minute drive from Iowa city, you’ll find the small cafe. The decor is not very enticing, but it is quaint. However, every night there are 3 entrees and three desserts offered, and these are some of the best meals you’ll get. Locally sourced food, interesting combinations (granted, some don’t always work out), and super creative.

I had one of my very favorite meals here on my first visit, back when the menu was in “pricing tiers” of sorts. It was like a long, skinless, miso poached eggplant and it was my favorite eggplant I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot of eggplant). While it’s long gone from the menu, there are a number of other tasty standbys that have withstood the test of time.

Been here for breakfast multiple times; I absolutely LOVE this place! It’s your typical diner and they don’t offer anything too out-of-the-ordinary from other diners, but this place just makes me happy. It’s such an awesome local spot in DC and the perfect place to hit up in the morning after a long night of revelry.
