Diners Drive-Ins and Dives
Mullberry is one of those restaurants that I’ve heard about for years but never
made it to until recently. As a local guy I’ve always had my preference for
either Amici in Kenmore of Chef’s for Italian in Buffalo, but after going to
Mulberry I can happily say its right up there with the best. I’ve been here
twice in the past few months and both times have been fantastic! The place has
your standard older buffalo and NYC pictures and jerseys on the wall around the
large…
Home style restaurant, meatloaf, fried green tomatoes, fried catfish, burgers,
and breakfasts.
The drink menu is extensive and food menu, while basic pub fare, is bountiful.
The kitchen pays very close attention to all special orders and in four years
of eating at this fine establishment I’ve never had a bad meal.
Known for their blueberry pancakes. This is my favorite diner & my very
favorite place to eat bfast.
Nadine’s a family owned and operated restaurant and bar first opened on October
16, 2001.
Good ol’ Naglee. Can’t say I’ve had the 2-star experience a few of my fellow
Elite had but i’ll say this much… hidden gem, good food, cash only, good
brews.
Came here today with two other friends and started brunch off with pomosoas.
They were delicious and a wonderful way to start off the afternoon!
We’ve been meaning to try this place since forever!! Finally made reservations
for the Chef’s Counter for my bf’s birthday this year and I’m sooo happy we
decided to come here. Our server, Rashelle, was extremely helpful and friendly
from beginning to the end of our meal.
This place has been bookmarked for months and I finally got a day off from work
on a weekday so off to Nic’s I went. I had to circle the block once to figure
out the parking situation because I didn’t want to risk getting towed. Turned
out, there’s a lot next to the building that you can park at.
I haven’t been to Nico’s since they moved to their new location, so I was happy
to get the opportunity to get a Saturday lunch there. The restaurant has just
as much parking as before, but much more seating, including a bar in the
middle. I am not sure if they always have it, but on this particular day they
had live music.
Working nonstop for 24 years, Eleni Fetokakis built her restaurant.
Went there due to its notoriety on Diners Drive ins and Dives and was not
disappointed. First of all, it is a small like other people say, but we go
there at 7:00 on a Sunday and there were a couple open tables so we didn’t have
to wait at all.
This place is a well oiled machine! I’m bummed I didn’t try one of their
sandwiches - but they looked amazing.
Recently stayed in SB and started asking around about where I can get a good
sub sandwich or pastrami. The overwhelming consensus was “Norton’s.” So off I
go.
Go ahead and wander into a magical world of 1970s decor laced with 1950s
dietary habits. This place is only missing cigars, ass-slapping businessmen,
and lots of pomade and this would be a setting for a madmen business luncheon.
My favorite place now. I went there today and I had the Brian special (which is
pretty a surprise - he will cook you whatever he feels like at the moment). I
can easily say it was the best breakfast I ever had. I had to drive about 45
minutes to get there and I dont even care… I will be going back every chance
I get. The staff was very friendly and Brian even came to say “hello” and
cracked a couple of jokes.
Pastrami sandwich and their Piggy’s french fries with thousand island dressing
caramelized onions.
I purchased a groupon for this place, which I had no clue was even located on U
street. To be honest. I have driven past the location on several occasions but
did not think for a minute that there was anything that I would ever want to
eat from out of it. But it is the classic dive spot…not so great on the
atmosphere but the food is definitely a must!
Ortegaz is great. Its small and intimate, the decor is classy and dark. This
is my very favorite place to go for a glass of wine with my wife. And its also
good for going with the whole family.
Pagoda is down the street from his house, and their Chinese food is the best in
North Pole if not the Fairbanks North Star Borough. There’s something about
the food that sets it apart from other Chinese restaurants, in a good way.
Almost seems like the stuff is authentic and well-crafted rather than
run-of-the-mill.
