Diners Drive-Ins and Dives
Holy Biscuits and gravy! Those biscuits are like the size of a dinner plate.
Pretty close anyways.
I sure do love Nashville but there have certainly been times when I have missed
the familiar scent of cannolis, red sauce, and chianti from my hometown St.
Louis’s “The Hill” neighborhood.
The food is pretty good, Nothing fancy or extravagant, but that’s not why we
go. It’s nice to support a place that is doing so much for the neighbourhood.
Plus, my son said the coffee milkshake was delicious!
Attentive and kind service, beautiful decor and atmosphere, decent prices,
generous servings, and truly delectable cuisine. Savoy has it all and for that,
they get 5 stars!
Being fans of Guy Fieri’s Triple D show and having driven by the place way to
many times over the past few years we opted to stop by for lunch.
Fine waterfront breakfast and lunch + exotic dining & waterfront lounge.
Scully’s Tavern provides excellent food and service in a friendly atmosphere.
After lurking on Yelp excessively for years now (and discovering many amazing
places as a result) I’ve decided to finally take the plunge. Ladies and
gentlemen, I now present to you… my very first Yelp review! Please, hold your
applause.
I’ve been going to Silk City since like 2003 and for some reason I have never
written a review. Back in college, we went here all the time to go dancing.
Before they re-did the diner part, the food was really simple diner food.
Nowadays the food is a little fancier, but you still get to sit in the old
school metal diner car. I only wish there was more seating.
How many restaurants can boast that they brew their own beer and rootbeer? Not
too many, let alone - it’s in Fox, AK! This place is tucked away in a small
town, but once you step in, you know they will serve you a great dinner.
Let me first start off with saying this place has shack in its name, that means
it’s a shack guys. There’s a few Ferrell cats hanging out by their dumpster and
on their porch.
I didn’t know anything about it’s fame or reputation, but I’m sure it’s well
earned. I know the next time I’m in Baltimore I will know of at least one place
that I can certainly consider a place to grab a meal.
By Breaking Bread together we establish bonds, affirm friendships, celebrate
events and resolve differences. Despite its significance, bread is among the
most basic of prepared foods - essentially it is derived from just four
ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast. While sourcing quality ingredients
is important, what truly separates ordinary bread from extraordinary bread is
the passion of an expert baker.
Texas red Chilli is $8.75 for a bowl. Comes with maco and cheese or white
cheddar grits. Add. $2.75 for the works and $3.25 for the cornbread with honey
butter.
I am doing this strict paleo eating thing right now (Whole30) that makes it
difficult to eat at restaurants. And being that I LOVE restaurants, this is
very hard on my life. Enter the Smack Shack to make everything all better. Like
a mom with a Band-Aid.
We stopped by again on a cold winter afternoon while passing through. We
decided to try what we saw on triple D… wings and tacos. These were
definitely amazing choices. The wings we were able to split the flavors, 6 hot
pepper and 6 jerk for $10.
As far as “smokey” (the name fits) restaurants, it wasn’t nearly as bad as most
Olive Hill restaurants are- I’m pretty sure over 80% of Olive Hill’s population
smokes. The only reason it’s not higher is because I’m including infants.
It’s hard to believe I live a mile from Smokin’ Guns and have only eaten there
twice in all these years…I guess it’s because I get some pretty good ‘que at
home.
Don’t share the cobblers. It will just cause discord among your party. There
are some things that shouldn’t be shared.
Philly Cheese Steak and Meatball Sandwich on their homemade bread.
