Diners Drive-Ins and Dives
I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed succotash yet.
Everything was really good. Brisket was tender, mac n cheese was a hit with the
kids. Wish we would have tried the caprese salad, it had slices of avocados on
it.
This. This is where we wish our metabolisms would let us eat brekkie Erry Day.
You will want to rush the doors on the weekends, this place starts filling up
at about 7.30, 8am. Once you’re in, though, you are treated to awesome service
from folks who know the menu like the back of their hand because they clearly
love what they’re serving.
I’ve been to Torino’s twice now - once today and once two years ago - and both
times were a treat. The atmosphere is very casual and the staff are so warm
and welcoming that I feel like I’ve been invited into someone’s dining room in
Italy.
Pies n Thighs is a magical place where you can get succulent pieces of chicken
with a crispy coat of fried goodness, a buttermilk biscuit peelable layer by
layer and a side for just $13. I’d imagine a plate of fried chicken this good
would cost closer to $20+ as it does in other restaurants, but it doesn’t!
After watching the first airing of Edelweiss on Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives I
knew I had to visit! Fresh, home-made sausage and I haven’t heard of this
business yet, are you kidding me!
Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to this restaurant. A friend brought me here
after seeing it on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. And I was maybe a bit skeptical
based on that fact. However I loved the food I got a Pulled Pork Arepa. The
pork was tasty, but the corn pocket they put in is absolutely delicious. Crispy
on the outside moist on the inside it makes for a perfect little sandwich. We
also got the Yuca fries. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but whatever it
was they exceeded those…
My bf chose to eat here because it was on Diners and Drive Ins. This place is
located right on the corner close to downtown. My bf and I sat inside in the
corner table where we got to enjoy the view of lots of different types of
people walking by… It was interesting.
I’m giving this place a 5 because they were super friendly, much unlike most of
Portland’s restaurant/bar staff. They greeted us when we entered and made
small talk with us while we were sitting at the bar. The three gals who were
working today were genuine and had great personalities.
You know. Yesterday was my birthday and as much as I wanted to go here again
(would have been my fourth time) I got swayed by the hype of the Screen Door.
Regrets regrets regrets. I was sad that my birthday food experience was one of
MEHdome.
Had to go with the Reuben. Normally, pastrami is fatty and chewy, but this meat
was super-tender and amazing. The price seemed a little high at first, but the
portions are huge (two whole pickles, if you’re into that sort of thing) and I
don’t know if they keep Reuben’s pre-made in the back (it tasted right off the
grill), but our order came to the table in less than 5 minutes. Wow!
Restaurants like Nopalito are arguably one of reasons I live in SF :) Pure
bliss from meal start to meal end.
I met the owner of this restaurant years ago when he had a small pizzeria near
my work. The pizza was so good I made sure to go there at least once a week.
One day he told me he was closing the shop and I was upset I wouldn’t get more
of his pizza, which tastes like true east-coast style thin crust. When he said
it was going to open a full Italian restaurant I got excited, if a guy from
Jersey makes pizza this good I knew he must be able to cook up some great
Italian dishes….and was…

Welcome to Shirley’s Tippy Canoe. Home of the best darned good food sitting on
the banks of the Sandy River. All our food is homemade from scratch and our
service always comes with a smile. Beyond our normal hours we are pleased to
handle all of your events and catering needs.
Finally was in the area and my brother took me to this spot that he’s been
raving about. And oh my gosh he did not lie. I ordered the #7 roast beef and
pastrami not knowing that it was THE sandwich to order. Mmm! We got here around
11 and thankfully missed the lunch rush. No wait, plenty of tables, hot
sandwich, friendly peeps, and even a washroom to clean the deliciousness off my
hands and face after my meal. Eastside is definitely a hidden gem. I can’t wait
to try the other…
I’m sure after the “Triple D” segment, everyone is flooding Yelp to see if the
hype about The Park’s Finest is actually true and yes ladies and gentlemen it
is! I’m almost sad that there will be crazy lines there now, but couldn’t be
happier to see this community business get introduced to so many people who
didn’t know about them before.
Addicted to this place. So tasty, healthy and a very cool vibe. Its a hidden
gem in the heart of Leucadia. I have only had the fish tacos with rice and
beans, but its the best fish taco in San Diego!!!
Owner Kevin Bludso comes from a family that has been barbecuing in Texas for
generations–since the plantation days of his great great grandfather!
After a combined 23 years in the fine dining scene all across the country we
decided it was time to slow life down a little bit and do our own thing, and
what better thing than Pizza & Beer.
