Eat Street
I’ve not tasted one mediocre item on this menu. Por Qui’s Buns (pork belly
buns), the Tongue Bun (roasted beef tongue), the Curry Bun (Peanut butter curry
in a deep fried bun), and of course the Beet Home Fries, which you’ve already
heard a ton about. There’s a good reason for that. They’re effing delicious.
Just be careful because there are times when they come out EXTREMELY hot.
I first experienced 2Fat at the State Fair, after hearing many rumors about how
great they are. As soon as I had my first taste I was floored. Their stuffed
wings are incredible. So far I have tried the Thanksgiving, Mac & Cheese, and
Smokehouse and they are all 100 times better than any chicken wing I have ever
had. They come with either fries or okra, the latter of which is out of this
world. Seriously the best okra I’ve ever had.
I’m a noodle lover. From ramen to lomien to pho and of course pasta. Here like
any noodle establishment that is worth their salt, it is handmade and cooked al
dente with perfectly balanced sauces. In Italy they don’t drown your pasta with
way too much pesto/cream/tomato sauce. That’s how it’s done here too but with
west coast flair.
I have to say for Walnut Creek this place is a must! The other Mediterranean
placed in town thrive on having their business on Main Street – so they jack
up the prices and give you mediocre food. Not here!

I first found out about Dim and Den Sum food truck when I visited the Cleveland
Chow-Down food truck event in Tremont, OH.
We had the fried pickles and the cubanphilly. Oh my, so delicious! I’m a big
fan of philly cheesesteak subs, and cubans are okay, so I wasn’t sure how I’d
like it, especially since it comes with salami. But I was quickly in love! It
doesn’t come with fries or anything (I suppose you can add them on) but did
have this creamy marinara (like a cross between marinara and creamed tomato
soup). It was delish. The sauce with the pickles was divine!
Shopping for your baby can be so overwhelming, but it was super easy and
actually a joy here at Beginnings! The owner, Pia, is SO sweet and
knowledgeable and the rest of the staff is also pretty well informed. Another
plus is that no one will pressure you to buy anything. They’ll answer your
questions, but give you the space to think it over and discuss with your
partner.
I found myself looking for a quick work lunch and heard about the truck being
in the area. I wanted the cone, but it was little old me, and it didn’t seem
office-friendly. I opted for a NY falafel pita. It was good, but a bit heavy on
the tahini and cabbage. The pita was so soft and yummy, I couldn’t finish it
all.
Finally made it out to Trailer Park’d for dinner tonight!! The trailer was
parked in Old Town tonight by the river. We were able to get our food and sit
on a picnic table by the water.
I cannot get enough of the sisig pork belly tacos and the Notorious R.I.B.
bowl! I wish this truck was in Vegas on a regular basis. It’s sooo yummy!
