Heat Seekers
I never thought I would order mac and cheese as my main dish at a restaurant
but at Mad Donna’s it was worth it!
I was running late during a lunchtime visit with my Yelp lunch peeps. I wasn’t
able to eyeball or sample anyone else’s plate. But one thing was for certain.
I was here for their Jerk Chicken Sandwich.
Their happy hour is one to contend with. $5 cocktails (I would reccommend the
mojito if you’re not a big tequila fan. you can get it traditional or with
muddled fruit, the blueberry is awesome!), 2 for $5 tacos (el pastor is the
most delicious), guacamole $5 (the toreado has a nice kick to it), $5 flautas
(just scrumptious), $5 wine.
When they say spicy it is SPICY!!! I’ve never been in person as I hear the
lines are super long. We just get delivery and they add a surcharge depending
on how far you are from their restaurant. I live in the Marina and it’s a $4
surcharge. I liked the thrice cooked bacon. The mongolian string beans. Just
about everything I’ve tried so far.
Sometimes I hesitate to review such a hidden neighborhood gem for fear of
exposing it. I can’t resist giving appropriate love to this cozy, cash-only,
BYOB in the Italian market neighborhood of south Philly.

I brought my parents to this spot for dinner and it was such a great choice.
Met up with a group of friends at Pearlz for dinner while visiting Charleston.
They don’t have a lot of tables, so get there early or make a reservation! It
was packed when we went for dinner, around 7pm on a Thursday in early October.
The BBQ here is always fantastic. My family and I have eaten from here
numerous times and have always been impressed by everything. Notably- the
baked beans and sauce varieties are second to none in my opinion, but that’s
not even going into how top quality their brisket, pulled pork, chicken, mac ‘n
cheese, slaw, and their amazing corn fritters are.
We went to Rice & Company for the purpose of my husband taking on the Fire
Breathing Dragon roll–the hottest sushi roll they make.
Rooster’s, in a word, is righteous. I wasn’t expecting much from a place that
looked like an overly glitzy chain BBQ joint, but I had the chopped brisket
sandwhich and the meat was incredibly moist, tender, and flavorful. Their house
BBQ sauce was well-spiced without overpowering the awesome meat, and the bread
was all sorts of buttery grilled goodness. Plus they have some sort of
greens-based relish that is a great fresh counterpoint to the heavy meat.
I was searching for a Sports Bar to watch Game 6 is the Stanley Cup Finals. I
found this place as it was near my hotel. I am here to tell you that I am very
happy that I came here!
The Bolts were ahead 17-13 with just over a minute left in the game and
Pittsburgh had the ball on the San Diego goal line. It was 4th & goal and The
Black and Yella lined up for one last stab at the end zone to win the game.
Love the atmosphere at Six Feet Under…I just wish the food was better. I
love love love seafood, so I’ve been here on more than a few occasions. It
seems to be one of the few spots in Atlanta with decent enough seafood that I
don’t feel I need to get dressed up for.
I’ve been to Super Pan often. Hell, I was the 4sqr mayor for a a few months
last year. I also really enjoy El Burro Pollo and Pura Vida which round out the
Hector Santiago triumvirate. They bring some unique items to the Atlanta scene
and for that I’m extremely thankful. It’s also for this very reason that I
think Super Pan is overrated. Atlantans love for highfalutin sandwiches allows
for customers to overlook some basic flaws in the food. Again, I still go
often, but if they…
Great place to go and enjoy great atmosphere, and great food. The live music,
free dance lessons, and overall layout of the restaurant is amazing. Highly
recommend you go, and highly recommend the Chicken & Waffles.
One of the many reasons I miss leaving Miami, this place has the most amazing
Civiche I have ever had. Amazing prices, value and service A++..
Came here a few years ago, I don’t remember the entree I ordered here but the
salsa and nachos were a hit! on top of that we ordered a large margarita that
my wife and I enjoyed sharing.
A really good cheesesteak but somewhat on the smaller side, also could have
used some more meat. Enjoyed the meal, but not so much washing it down with a
$3 soda.
Wow, Cava Mezze DC is absolutely delicious. I’m a huge fan of the take-out Cava
eateries in Bethesda and Tenleytown, so I was excited to try out the actual
restaurant. I was very impressed by the selection- it was so hard to pick! I
love their dips so naturally the dip tasting was my first selection. I liked
all of the dips, especially the hummus and crazy feta. Oh, and the harissa
(which comes with your pita bread) is heavenly. Too bad my acid reflux
prevents me from eating mounds and…
