Heat Seekers
It’s a good place to eat. I gave Cowgirl 3 stars for the food selection.
Being a vegetarian, I was surprised that they had a smorgasbord of items to
select from! I gave it an extra star for the margharitas. While they weren’t
any different from any other place with margharitas, what I haven’t seen before
is a Pear margharita which I thought was innovative.
Incredible gulf oysters - just 7.99/dozen is as reasonable as it gets. The
other items were okay (wings oversauced - stick with the seafood!) and the
outdoor dining area was great. Live music was at a nice volume, and the ring
toss kept the kids busy. Oysters. Now.
Finally got to eat here, despite my travel schedule…and it did not
disappoint. I HAD to try the hot sausage po-boy and the pan fried mac and
cheese.
I’ve only ever eaten at Araya’s lunch buffet, but the buffet alone is worth
five stars. For $8.99 you get all you can eat, all vegan Thai food. COME ON.
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
After arriving in a shopping plaza in the Pembroke Pines area I was immediately
taken aback by the wonderful aromas that were lingering in the air. I actually
stopped in the parking lot and said aloud “what smells so good”? I was
overheard by a nearby woman who informed me that the delicious smells were
coming out of the little restaurant at the end of the shopping complex and that
the name of the restaurant was Aunt I’s.
I try to be stingy with my 5 star ratings but Avellino’s seriously impressed
me. We had just moved to Decatur and I had seen this place right down the
street from us - so figured it was worth a shot.
This isn’t a bad little Westbank bar. First of all, it is huge. I really
can’t think of a bigger Westbank bar and it has a little stage, so I imagine
that bands perform here. The few times I have been here have been during the
week. It’s pretty empty, aside from a few teams playing pool. My only real
complaint is that the bar gets SUPER smoky, which is odd because it’s a big
place and there aren’t a ton of people in there. Maybe they need better smoke
eaters…
Love the goat cheese app, just the right balance and served with yummy little
toasts. We always order the Painful and while incredibly delish!! It’s
painful to eat (lots of fresh jalapenos) and painful the next 12 or so hours.
It’s delish however, so you will have to be the judge of whether or not it’s
worth it!! I read some people get the jalapenos on the side which I may try
next time. We have also had the slutty ravoli which were pretty good, but not
my all time fav.
To start, they had about 45 or so tappers for different beers from all over the
country. Each of the beers were only about 5 or 6 bucks for the nice heavy
craft beers. I don’t remember what the crappy domestic beers like Miller cost.
Also we were here on a week day during happy hour where most of the pints were
a buck off each, so craft beer for 4 bucks a pint made me happy.
