Finding the perfect pizza is like finding the perfect ramen. Everybody has a
different idea of what is perfect. My preference is not oily, not overly
cheesy, a little salty, not overwhelmed with meats, dough light with air
pockets and chewy but firm either by fire or by design. In other words I’m
looking for an Italiano style pizza.
When I first read about Forcella’s deep fried pizza I thought, “Now that’s
something different”, which is something I don’t often say about a food like
pizza. Apparently deep fried pizza is a popular Neapolitan street food with a

Marin County favorite. Our pizzas are crafted in the traditional Neapolitan
thin crust style, hand stretched and cooked in our wood burning pizza oven.

oil, having lots of that distinctive flavor.
Square Pizza since 1946

grabbing favorite cheeses from the counter and throwing on vegetables from the
market next door.
Jim Lahey opened the doors to Co., his first pizza restaurant, in 2009.
Serving Famous Thin-Crust Pizza & Drinks Since 1935
The story of this food is as long and as varied as the people involved, of
which there are many. We learned how to make this distinct crust and many of
other recipes from Mike Freeman while working at the then hole-in-a-wall Zelo,
estd. 2000 in Los Angeles.
