Roadtrip with G. Garvin
From its origins as a tack room to its contemporary incarnation as a hospitable
retreat, the Lowcountry carriage house has evolved from its rustic roots to
offer genteel repose-much like Southern culinary culture itself. Our modern
carriage house beckons with both intriguing history and fresh inspiration,
enfolding visitors in a simpler way of life where a small plate of shrimp and a
nip of bourbon are the evening’s star attractions. Find this culinary excursion

The mighty hog. Pronounced H-A-W-G ’round here. Noble animal. Is what it is,
and knows it. Won’t prance. Can’t dance. Don’t care. But you best know which
end might bite ya. Harry Truman once said, “No man should be allowed to be
president who does not understand hogs.” Our sentiments indeed.

Ever since we first opened the Deli’s doors back in 1982, Zingerman’s has been
about getting great-tasting food, fun and educational eating experiences to our
guests. We’ve traveled all over the world to find traditional, full-flavored
foods to bring back to Ann Arbor. The Roadhouse has allowed us the opportunity
to really channel that energy into our own backyards by focusing solely on the
amazing array of really good American food that we’ve got right here at home.
I love going to Bennett’s Ice Cream, because the fresh ice cream is delicious
and the service is down home and friendly. This is an old-fashioned ice cream
stand in the best sense of the word. The home made ice cream comes in an
incredible selection of flavors, (the mint chip is to die for) and the ice
cream scooping staff will be only too happy to give you some sample tastes.
Located in the classic old Farmer’s Market at 3rd & Fairfax, you’ll find

If you’re visiting DC, pleeeease do yourself a favor and make a reservation at
this place. The food, drinks, service, and ambience were OUT OF THIS WORLD. We
arrived at 6pm on a Saturday with no reservation expecting to be turned away,
but we got lucky and landed a spot at the full-service dining bar.
What better way to spend Saturday dinner among close friends and delicious
nouveau American cuisine at Boundary Road! The place is warm and inviting, with
exposed brick walls and rustic, simple furniture. We came in as a party of
three and ordered two appetizers, the PB&J fois gras and a pasta dish with
scallops.
Located in the farmers market at the grove, it’s one of the food booths in the
front. They serve up many different kind of hot dogs. They pride themselves
in no snouts, no tails, no added nitrates, and no mechanically separated meat.
