Roadtrip with G. Garvin
I would come here more often if I weren’t a poor student. Prime location for
future special occasions and the like!
I’ve been coming here since about the time they opened and I’ve never had a bad
experience. It’s just a hair more upscale than the other places in the Gallery
Place area, and it might seem a little more expensive, but it’s absolutely
worth the good service and stiff drinks.
Amazing food! Chicken liver and eggs….yup! Food, service and price all 5
star. Only problem is there are a bunch of eagles fans that work here. If you
wear your cowboys gear be prepared to hear about it!
The best thing about Woody’s is that we are
specialized. We focus on Bar-B-Que only.
Our product is cooked fresh daily. Our meat goes from the Pit to the steam
tables, and out the door to our customers
Perhaps the best meal I’ve ever eaten. Delicious, beautifully presented, and
perfect portions. The amuse trio was fabulous, especially the BLT, and the
chocolate mousse dessert was to die for. Fantastic service, and adorable
setting!
Fusion food from North to South America is the resident forte here otherwise
known as Pan-American cuisine. The restaurant delivers quite the ambiance with
modern/contemporary in earth tones and a touch of rustic. The high ceilings
add space and grandeur to the glory of Bocanova!
A cute little gastropub in downtown Oakland, more than a bit of a walk from
Jack London Square (and given the area, it isn’t ill-advised to drive instead
of walk there).
I ordered the salmon omelet which was full of flavor! It comes w. a side and I
ordered the fruit and it was so good. There was a mix of mango, jack fruit,
sweet melons and figs. I don’t know any other place that offers exotic sweet
fruit.
Amazing place!
Love the location. It resides in a residential area surrounded by businesses,
mainly recording studios and such. This house that converted into a restaurant
sits on the corner, so you can’t miss it. You walk up to its outdoor patio
which is fenced in by low standing bushes. When you walk through, you will
find ample outdoor seating as well as heat lamps to accommodate for chilly
days. Their patio is pet friendly too, which I adore businesses for. It’s
decorated in strings of…
An outstanding meal and experience.
Do you want monstrous portions of food that actually tastes good well then this
is the place for you!
Let’s talk about cuteness all rolled up into one restaurant.
I originally love traveling to the Oakland location because that is where I
first experienced chicken & waffles. But, the new location in walnut creek is
just as good.
Wow. Just zipping through places I’ve been over the last few months and I
really have been lax at reviewing. For shame.
PieTisserie operates from the storefront window of 1015 Clay. I first noticed
them walking by as proprietor Jaynelle (if the Greco-Roman pantheon had a
goddess or muse of pies, it would be Jaynelle) offered samples of beet pie.
Yes, BEET pie (with sweet potato blended in). Drop-dead delicious.
Well, it’s been almost a year since Pink Box opened up and it’s just gotten
better with time, IMHO. What makes it a 5-star place for me is the staff,
really. Every time we go there, they are just happy as clams, and who wouldn’t
be, surrounded by all that sugary goodness? Lance, one of the owners, is
usually at the register during the day, and often there’s a nice
gentleman/greeter who welcomes you, too (sorry, I don’t know his name, but he’s
fabulous).
I ordered the Jambalaya combo that came with a generous portion of spicy
Jambalaya, delicious cornbread and a fresh green salad for about ~$11. My
sister had the soft shell crab combo also with cornbread and a green salad for
~$13.
What can I say…..it’s The RUD!
Urban legends are remarkable but often apocryphal stories that spread like
wildfire. Urban Legend is a winery in a city—almost an apocryphal story in
itself—that makes remarkable wines.
