The Best Thing I Ever Ate
I am giving this a fourth star because my husband lobbied for it. My general
impression of our brunch was “underwhelming.” I would like to return for
dinner though, because i realize that brunch on a holiday may not be the best
barometer by which to judge a restaurant’s awesomeness.
Courtesy of a Gilt City deal, I decided to try out the LA fine dining scene
while visiting family over the holidays.
This city would be a lot less sweet without Valerie and her glorious
confections. The woman’s chocolatey creations and pleasure-inducing baked goods
can be found in at least one bakery/deliesque joint in every neighborhood, or
so it seems!
This place has an atmosphere and way of doing things that can only be described
as self assured. The mixologists have carefully honed their art and produce
some of the best cocktails I have ever had. In their recipes, they manage to be
innovative without being trendy. As a result they have all the classic martinis
and some new twists that complement and enhance them.
My mother and I went here last Saturday evening for dinner. We arrived fifteen
minutes after they opened. I’ve been there a couple times for lunch but never
for dinner.
This place was super busy when we got there but luckily we only waited 5 mins
to get a table. The service was on point. They were quiet organized considering
the chaos of people.
I’ve had 4 months to write a review about Vetri and I’m still at a loss for
words for how I should describe my meal. Is there a level above perfect?
Because there should be, and it should be called Vetri (Merriam-Webster, update
your dictionary now).
We went here for a large party of 10. The parking wasn’t very good but I
usually count that as a good sign of whats the come. Fortunately most of my
expectations of the place were exceeded. From this experience its hard to find
fault with this place.
I very rarely give out the coveted 5 star rating but I felt it was time. I’m
not sure if it was the glow from a perfect weekend or if my experience was
really that spectacular but I’m going with both of those.
Went here on a Thursday night in December. It’s exactly what you want to walk
into on a chilly night. Lots of wood, warmth and an expert hand at the bar. I
don’t remember the name of the cocktail I ordered but it was good and my friend
was smiling through his whiskey sour.
I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed waffles so much! My mom put icecream on waffles
and made homemade icream sandwichs for breakfast once but, speculoos spread,
nutella, whipped cream, strawberries & bananas (how I like my liege) topped
that!
Five star restaurant (for what it is), minus a star for how insane the wait can
get and for the tiny glasses of water and juice.
Surprisingly good asian food - definitely exceeded my expectations from the
typical asian-themed restaurants peppered around the strip. Menu straddles a
number of cultures from Japanese to Chinese to Thai so there’s something for
everyone. As in most Encore locales, the food is pricey but that comes with
the territory. Service was fine.
The fish sandwich and the pot pie were a tad disappointing. I thought they’d
have some Brazilian twist, but they tasted like a fish sandwich and a pot pie.
What can I say about WK that hasn’t been said already. Nothing. The food is
outstanding. The prices are outstanding. The service, decor…every single
detail from the location to the music, the non-alcololic beverage options to
the ridiculous coffee and espresso drinks. An ever changing menu inspired by
traditional Maryland cooking, with locally sourced ingredients from small
independent farms in and around Baltimore, stretching into PA and WV.
It is a hole-in-the wall, small place that takes cash only, so don’t expect it
to be a full-service restaurant. This is more like take-out or fast food/on the
go but higher quality and taste. One of the few Chinese places I approve of and
frequent.
I really enjoy this place…I mean i get why some of the Yelpers can get upset,
about this place making you order atleast 5 skewers per person! But look at it
this way… the place isn’t all that big. and located right next to Santa
Monica. Also, they only open for 4 and a half hour a day! I cant imagine how
they make ends meet, if people just ordered a few and sit for hour…personally
i can eat over 10+easy!

Interesting combination of two unrelatable words and you get the name of this
unique food establishment. Upscale at the very least (food prices reflect it),
and situated in a random alleyway in the Financial District, Yank Sing is the
kind of place that’s reserved for fancy business meetings or special events
(think birthday, anniversary, etc.).
Not really a cheese steak expert, but I thought these were delicious. Hot,
flakey, juicy meat and a fresh chewy sub roll.
