Throwdown! with Bobby Flay
When you think of Maine food you probably think of 2 things: lobster and
whoopie pies. Cranberry Island Kitchen has found their place in Maine food
history with their whoopie pie creations. In addition to the original whoopie
pie shape and flavor, they have several other options: golden, pumpkin,
mussel-shaped, clam-shaped.
This place rocks! The delicious smell alone was enough to keep me there for
hours. I found the staff to be friendly and fun, unlike some of the other
reviews. I tasted a few different pies. Despite hearing great things about the
steak pie, it wasn’t my favorite.
Suuuuper happy when they finally opened a store. But sad that it’s a bit out of
the way for me and their truck by St. Marks is now gone.
I live in queens and if you are looking for amazing fresh Italian specialty
items this is the place to go. They have all the Italian classics……
Homemade Ravioli, Homemade pasta, fresh and dried sausage, sopresatta, a nice
variety of cheese, pizza dough, fresh meats and cold cuts, Italian bread and
the list goes on and on…. I read some of the other reviews and apparently
some people think that they are overpriced..
I grew up in Long Island, in one of its historic & still active fishing hubs.
Thruout high school and college, I worked on clam boats and lobster boats
(before most of LIs lobster stock mysteriously died off suddenly during the
summer of 1999) and for the top distributor of local oysters making 1am trips
into the (now relocated) Fulton Fish market to (mostly) sell, and buy (a lil
bit). I grew up & moved into the city,
The sandwiches are to die for. We ordered two for the train ride back to New
York.
Absolutely love coming to Granville Moore’s to chill, catch up with a friend,
and get some delicious food. GM got, hands down, some of the best moules in DC.
The Bison chili is also awesome, and the fries are delicious, but an order of
fries is humongous. You must try all the sauces that comes for the fries.
I have sent people different things from Hancock the last two years at
Christmas and both times everything was surprisingly great.
This is how fried chicken is supposed to be! Perfectly crispy on the outside,
cooked nicely on the inside….not dry but not wet (like those gross chicken
wings you find in chinese restaurants). Super flavorful and waaay better than
anything Booby Flay could do! The coleslaw and fried okra are quite tasty as
well. I look forward to trying the mac & cheese with fried chicken. I like
the cozy atmosphere and the fact that they know how to make a good mint julep.
The night that I discovered this place was totally impromptu, and those are the
best kind of nights, no?
