I cannot get enough of the sisig pork belly tacos and the Notorious R.I.B.
bowl! I wish this truck was in Vegas on a regular basis. It’s sooo yummy!
The original Billy Goat Tavern location was “born” in 1934 when Greek
immigrant, William “Billy Goat” Sianis, purchased the Lincoln Tavern.Billy
Goat bought the tavern for $205, with a check that bounced but was later repaid
with sales from the first weekend. The tavern was located across from the
Chicago Stadium (now United Center) and attracted mainly sports fans. Sianis
became known as “Billy Goat,” when a goat fell off a passing truck and wandered
inside.…
I live in New York. On most cuisines in the United States, that means a narrow
if not a wide victory. Mexican is not one of them. This is that story.
Frank is reminiscent of some great Chicago places. Vienna hot dogs, run through
the garden…that’s me….or speciality dogs and sausages…not so me, but
still good. And, yes, they put their Viennas on poppy seed buns, which gets a
plus from me.
I was there for a work function so I didn’t have to pay for my drinks, but I
wouldn’t need drinks to enjoy this place anyway. The band was awesome, the
dancing was so much fun, the bartenders were very good at their jobs, and the
atmosphere is great.
Every self-respecting Austinite has a Magnolia story. As a St. Ed’s alum, I
have a lot. I’ve loved taking my family here for brunch; the coffee and
shopping opportunities at Primrose next door make the long waits manageable.
Can words properly describe Miguel’s? Probably not, but I’ll do my best.
Miguel’s is by far my favorite food trailer in Austin. I spent most of my
childhood in Miami so I know Cuban food the likes of Versailles and let me tell
you, these guys know Cuban. There are some secrets and important tips in this
review, so pay attention!
Wanna go to a dilapidated shack where a man will cut meat with his bare hands,
tossing it on a bare scale and serving it to you on a slice of paper on a
plastic tray?
My uncle took me here when I was a youngin’, oh so many years ago. The food was
beyond greasy. A stool was missing. Being the obstinate child that I was, I
asked. His response? This is Yelp, so I’ll keep it PC.
Their smoked meat is amazing, and I was THRILLED on a recent visit (Dec ‘12)
that they had gotten gluten-free bread (major score).
Check their website for where they will be located! This is a food truck and
they call it “quick gourmet” food. Comes out in 3 minutes and looks like a
million dollars.
This place is a great addition to the Pittsburgh restaurant scene. It’s been
on my list for quite awhile and I finally got there on my recent visit to the
burgh. A friend and I risked it without reservations and met at 6, we were
lucky and easily snagged 2 seats at the bar. This place is small - it took me
awhile to realize that the mirrors on the walls around the place were just that
- mirrors and that the place wasn’t huge.
HOLY SH!T! THIS IS THE 50th STEAKHOUSE I’VE REVIEWED! I’ve been here once
before, but that was before I started doing reviews. I remember thinking it was
in my short list of favorites at the time, so I needed to come back and give it
the old once-over, JP style. The verdict: not quite as incredible as I
remember, but still a solid dining experience.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said? With a name like Doe’s Eat
Place, you know it’ must have generations of history behind it. If you’re new
to Greenville or the Delta in general and you’re using your GPS to bring you
here, don’t be alarmed as you drive up - your GPS hasn’t flaked out - yes,
Doe’s is definitely in the hood! You wouldn’t believe this converted turn of
the century shack, er house is home to steaks pushing the $50…
I wish there were a more elegant way to put this: Holy Sh*t. This is good
steak. When you come to Five O’Clock, you’re coming for a delicious piece of
beef and some good old Wisconsin hospitality. Period. No bells. No whistles. If
you come in expecting a typical supper club experience, you will be completely
blown away. If you’re looking for a more upscale experience, I will direct you
to my review of Carnevor.
When in Billings for work, there is no other place we eat than The Rex. Every
time I have eaten here, except once, it has been great. This is a steakhouse
(why would you get coastal seafood in the middle of MT?) and I recommend the
fillet or rib eye. The only thing I have had that was not good was the chicken
sandwich.
You can still get a hearty meal at Sparks even if you don’t eat red meat. I
was there again with a friend this evening and still got a filling meal. I had
their spinach salad which is HUGE (there was as much spinach as there is in
one of those ready pak bags you get at the market). It was also finished
nicely with sauteed mushroom slices and bacon bits.
An Indianapolis institution that is a MUST for anyone coming to Indy for the
first time. This is the king of all restaurants in Indy. The best steaks cooked
to perfection, You open the doors and walk through, check your coat and walk
past the bar upfront to your table. Dark wood, classic and old school charm,
the kind of place where all the men should be smoking cigars and drinking
whiskey straight. St. Elmo’s is a timeless classic that makes me feel like I’ve
gone back in time,…
Absolutely amazing!
OMG! So good! I will definitely come back here for brunch when I visit NYC
next. I love being taken to places that isn’t touristy and are places that are
frequented by the locals. I enjoyed everything I ate here. I don’t really like
oatmeal but for some reason I LOVED their oatmeal here (my friend ordered it)
and their biscuits were delicious! I love the ambiance and I love how clean the
restrooms are. Don’t forget to take some picture in their picture booth!
