Let me start by saying I was a little scared to eat at the Savoy for the mere
fact that I NEVER hear anyone speak of going to the Savoy. How could the food
be good, how could the food be fresh? Yet, we were looking for an old school
experience for a special occasion on a Wednesday night that neither of us had
ever been to and we chose the Savoy and stuck with it, and am so glad that we
did…..we loved it.
Quintessential austin experience. In my top three so far. We sat at the bar
which faces the kitchen. Hipster chefs. Fun, quaint atmosphere. Progressive
farm-to-table menu. Clever flavor combinations.
I probably live here as much as I do at my office and apartment. A very well
run, clean, organized and well stocked supermarket. They have seasonal local
produce (best raspberries ever in the summer!) and an overall great produce
section. The bakery is great too, the muffins and breads are not to be missed!
The daily soup specials are very good too, particularly their butternut squash.
Nice cheese selection as well. I buy fish there occasionally, which is always
fresh.
Slightly pricey, but the smooth and rich coffee is worth every drop! This
location is very chill and lacking the loud music other coffee houses blare.
The windows are perfect for people watching and the art that surrounds you is
cool! Oh, and the barista was very personable and eccentric.
Delicious! And the people who work here are so nice. Every time I’ve gone I’ve
ended up with some additional treat on the house all because I was curious
about a menu item I’d never seen before.
The boyf and I were in Madison for the weekend and decided to try this place
out. We were a little worried that they don’t take reservations (especially
after we got into town and realized it was Winter Fest), but the wait was
really not long. When we walked in, there were a lot of people waiting, and
the hostess told us it would be about 45 minutes. It was really only about 25
minutes. In the meantime, we grabbed a couple beers from the bar. It took a
while to order them, but the…
True to my six year old self, I can not order anything besides the poor russ
sandwich. It is the most glorious understated thing on the menu & I have sweet
dreams about it. The bread soaks up the juicy perfection that is the burnt
ends & the bbq sauce… oh the sauce.
Anthony Bourdain ended his renowned show No Reservations right here at Jay &
Lloyd’s. Not at a trendy Williamsburg eatery, or a world-famous historical hot
dog joint. A kosher deli set in a sleepy neighborhood of Brooklyn that makes
some of the best deli food you’ll ever eat.
The service was awesome, we had a reservation, and arrived early, so we had a
drink at the bar. I’m not usually a fancy cocktail girl, but these fine tuned
hand crafted cocktails aren’t a bad thing. The bartender, Aaron, was really
nice and seemed quite vested in his drinks.
Our waiter was also awesome, he had some good advice, like the ribeye is a
bigger portion than the rack of lamb, and even showed a bit of concern over
just ordering a raviolo for my entree (I ate two other first…
My good friend spoke very highly of LC’s Burnt Ends and they were no joke!
Slathered in just the right amount of sweet, mildly spicy BBQ sauce, the
quadrilateral hunks of proteinacious awesome were explosions of succulent,
savory flavor one after another. And depending on the cut, you can get a hit
of fatty glory or deliciously smoky char…yum!
The best salmon sandwich I’ve ever had. We came here three times in our 4 day
stay in Sitka, which I think says a lot. As a visitor, it seemed to be the
community center for so many folks in Sitka - we played board games there with
friends we were visiting and even caught a little of the open mic. What a great
vibe!
Nice breakfast – but if you’re going on the weekend go early because you will
wait for a table in the small dining room. Solid food, nice service, and a
comfortable table. Gentlemen: be sure to visit the bathroom; it’s comically
small.
Ludvig’s is the best in Sitka, hands down. Excellent food, polite service, and
Colette is a primo chef! It rivals downtown Seattle small restaurants, has a
great atmosphere, and the food is fresh, fresh. Try the calamari - if it was
prepared like this everywhere, squid would be an endangered species!
I enjoy coming here. It isn’t fancy, but I like that. I recommend you stay
basic in what you order (pizza, pasta dishes with traditional red sauces,
etc..). For instance, avoid the alfredo sauce, it wasn’t good. But, the
Manicotti was great, and the pizza is pretty good. Their meatballs are good
too. The salads are very fresh, and their house dressing is very good. And
most importantly, it’s comfortable! It has a full bar, and a “bistro area”
near the bar.…
This is your classic diner with typical breakfast items and sandwiches. I got
the corned beef hash which was awesome! I can’t say I am a huge fan of corned
beef hash to begin with, but I cleaned my plate when it was all over.
Definitely get this! The coffee is pretty terrible, but nothing some sugar
can’t cure. I also heard the short ribs are good when they are the daily
special.
I have only eaten the Z-man at OK Joe’s. That’s all I will ever eat here
because it is amazing!!! Crunchy onion rings on a bbq sandwich… BRILLIANT!
The fries are also really good. Their seasoned salt which comes on the fries
is very tasty. They also have diet Mt. Dew out of the fountain in Leawood,
which almost warrants 5 stars on its own.
Back at it! Service is so much better. Granted it was a 6:30 arrival time.
My friend and I had no wait. It took us longer to decide our meal than it did
to get seated.
I ordered a roast duck, stuffed with baked apples inside. I ordered it because
it was a traditional Russian dish and what better place to enjoy it than an
antique themed, classy Russian restaurant? I found the taste adequate to my
delight!
I would book a weekend night time reservation.
Ting S and I took my off the boat parents to this old fashion italian joint.
(Not sure how old fashion it is, since everything single items on the menu are
cooked by mexican) I digress… We went on sunday night, so the place was
relatively slow. The overall meal was amazing! We had the steamers, calamari,
Red clam Sauce with Linguine, Pasta Marechiara, Mozzarella sticks, and a bowl
of lobster bisque. They even allowed us to bring gluten free pasta as a
substitute in the pasta marechiara!…
Ever since reading Kitchen Confidential, I’ve been sheepish about loving
brunch. I know it’s wrong to let somebody tell me what I should and shouldn’t
enjoy, but Anthony Bourdain is just so COMPELLING. And so it’s saying
something, that I’m willing to sit here and put myself on the line (assuming
Tony reads my Yelp reviews.. because he does…) for brunch at Roberta’s. It’s
just really that good.
