Just left there after picking up an egg custard pie,
6muffins-hummingbird,Carmel banana, and fruit. Let me start with the pie. The
very BEST custard pie I have ever eaten and I’ve eaten plenty. This has the
true home made eggy taste I remember from too long ago.
The muffins: very, very good. Having tasted the pie I had to find out if the
baking there was equal to the pie. I cut a sliver from each flavor muffin and
am truly happy.
This will be my bakery from now on. I’m so glad…
I’m a hippie from California and ever since moving here, it’s hard to find that
eclectic mix of Southern & “hippie” food. This is the perfect spot for me - I
love it. The food is awesomely delicious and the staff is great.
Canter’s may not have the best deli food around, but the atmosphere there is
just the best. It has such a history, and you know that your server has been
working there since before you were born.
Warning - the portions are HUGE. The staff is friendly (if not a little too
friendly). When you sit, you get two different types of pickles. I ordered
the Woody Allen (pastrami and corned beef) and when the dish came, my eyes
popped out of my head. There was a good 6 inches of pastrami and corned beef
crammed between two little slices of bread.
Goldbergs’ Famous Delicatessen is a full service restaurant, lounge & deli
counter.
Pastrami, corned beef, knishes, egg creams, smoked whitefish, premium lox,
Nathan’s dogs, potato latkes, cheesecake… We’ve got all the deli classics,
plus old favorites like corned beef & cabbage, roasted brisket, and chicken pot
pie. And that’s not to mention over 40 mouth-watering sandwiches!
Before a yummy breakfast each morning (the stuffed French toast was incredible)
coffee and newspapers were available in the living room. In the afternoon sweet
tea and refreshments were waiting for us when we got back from several hours of
strolling the historic district. Prior to dinner each night, hors d’oeuvres and
wine were waiting for guests to enjoy.
I have been three times and each time the food was good! The chicken livers
appetizer is enough for a meal! You can eat out on a nice patio in warm
months. Be careful if the acorns are falling!! They do have umbrellas though
so if your there in the fall when this happens get under one.
This place makes amazing sandwiches. I was on a yelp north beach walking tour
when I found this place. I wish it wasn’t so far away, but if I’m around here
for lunch again - this would be a no brainer return spot.
This review is not about food… Because there are no words in any language to
describe the deliciousness and exquisiteness that is Mrs. Wilkes. How this
place is not rated 5 stars across the board is beyond me. There’s is absolutely
no reason why it should be any lower.
The fun atmosphere with excellent home made food ad friendly on top of it
service! All the items we had were fantastic!
Five stars because of how this place has retained most of its 1945 charm, even
in the middle of Beverly Hills. We had the New York and the Hollywood
sandwiches. The New York came with hot pastrami, the Hollywood with hot corned
beef, both with topped with cole slaw and Russian dressing on double rye bread.
It also comes with pickles for the table. And we chose potato salad as our
sides upon recommendation of the waitress. LOVED the pastrami sandwich and that
potato salad was on point. It was…
My experience was very positive. We were not interested in spending a lot, and
we went for lunch. We had potato kugel, stuffed cabbage, fried fish cakes, and
a hamburger plate. All of those were excellent- and I’m extremely picky and
don’t eat exclusively in kosher establishments.
Oh my goodness.. In honor of my contradicting New Years resolution of 1)
enjoying life more and 2) eating more sensible and healthily, I decided to stop
back on by Savannah on our ride back home once more to visit the Savannah Candy
Kitchen. Twenty dollars later, we walked out with licorice, rock candy, coconut
patties and pralines.
I was in town for a wedding a couple of weekends ago and, after researching the
area, my fiance and I made sure this place was our first stop for lunch. We
weren’t disappointed! To start off, we decided to share a large Jenny’s Fix
(pastrami sandwich) on italian bread. After placing our order, we loitered
around to sample some of their products. We had some roasted almonds and some
interesting olive oils; all were great! While sampling, we struck up a
conversation w/ a couple of…
The food was pretty good (it’s Argentine, so what do you get? EMPANADAS).
Also, the person providing the service was very friendly. Fairly priced. An
all-around good choice if you like empanadas and other foods from Argentina.

Bacon Night was once again a fantastic experience for the palate. The crowded
bar that some shrill Scarlett Look-at-me-in-my-big-hat O’Hara kvetched about
was merely a good sign of the desirability of the food and drink at Bad
Decisions. The workers were constantly mixing fresh drinks from scratch - so
yes it take a while to get your order, but you could see the staff was busy and
not loafing around. It was hard for the waitress to deliver an order when she
had to squeeze between people…
Wonderful little Bahamian eatery, great patio, authentic meal, special local
color–true “island cooking”. mmmm
Such an excellent place to eat. I would go here everyday if I could. The
banana pancakes were the best I’ve had and my husband’s sausage egg and cheese
was the best he’s ever had. The side of banana bread was so good, we bought
some to bring home with us.
I have been back a few times and on my last visit I noticed they added ribs. So
i had a pit beef there and took some ribs home. The pit beef sandwich was
freaking great, tender juicy flavorful medium rare beef piled high on soft
roll.
