Arrived late, for dinner, on a cold Saturday night. Glad there was inside
seating, as we heard it was mostly outside. The menu is kind of hard to figure
out which direction they’re trying to go, asian (Korean?) meat lover, or
healthy. It’s certainly ‘all of the above’. Love’s very creative and the place
is eclectic and warm at the same time.
You’ll love the old world warmth and charm. Where you can party hearty in an
atmosphere of festive good taste and genuine fellowship. It may sound corny,
but it’s true: “you’re a stranger here but once!”.

This is a joint.
If you need a larger meal, they have one or two hot plates with combos in the
bakery, or you can go next door (no sign!) to get full meals which we will try
soon. One new item they have in the bakery is a delicious mix of fresh
shrimp, peppers and onions with garlic sauce on a “plate” of fried plantains.
The sauce is light and delicious and the plate is filling and crunchy.
Bollywood (as we know Bombay or Mumbai) is known for both its movie industry
and wide variety of food ranging from Pav-Bhaji and Vada-Pav to Pani-puri and
Bhel. Food and Movies- both are prime source of entertainment for any Indian
and that’s the reason Bollywood truly represents India.
Dodging drunks coming in and out of Stool Pigeons, I decided to stop in on this
small place. I did not see one person. The sign on the outside promised
Caribbean (Jamaican) food. From the time I opened the door, I could smell
nothing but the flavors from the island, the jerks, curries, and many other
island favorites.
Billy and Jenn Streck moved to Atlanta from the East Village in Manhattan to
pursue their dream in opening a neighborhood pub and to start their new family.
Billy is originally from New York and Jenn is a native from Atlanta, and both
of them have many years of working in the bar industry. They teamed up with
some local pals and opened Cypress in December 2007. Now their family has
grown and so has Cypress!
I have a feeling the pepper soup here started my love affair with insanely
spicy food. I ate here in December on my way from the East Coast to London.
This ended up being a random restaurant recommended to me by a Hatian friend,
who knew I had a bad experience with Carribbean food in Miami (a future 1-star
review to come).
A friend and I were there last Friday night between 11:30 and 2am. Just to be
clear, I didn’t even know they served food, and that wasn’t the reason for our
visit.
Every time my Mom has visited us here, she has been searching for a good Asian
market to buy food from and I think we finally found one! It is a 50 minute
drive from Lake Norman but we were able to stock up on lots of frozen goods as
well as satisfy our tapioca milk tea craving in the process. There is also a
bakery there with egg tarts , sweet breads, and sesame balls. The market is
clean as well and is in a relatively clean plaza area. There is also a butcher
and restaurant area where they can…
The food is amazing. I have tried most of the menu (I kid you not), and there’s
not one thing I don’t like - of course I have my favorites (chana chat, lamb
momos, chicken tikki masala, chicken korma, saag paneer, paneer kulcha…I
know…too much).
Godiva who!? My mom used to take me to Albert Kirchmayr since I was a baby,
waaaay back when the store was still located on Charles Street near Roland
Park. It’s since moved to Timonium, but the quality has not changed one bit.
I’ve been meaning to check out Lith Hall’s Save Your Soul dance party ever
since I moved to Baltimore nearly a year ago but I only finally got around to
it this past week. Lord am I glad I did! Great 50s/60s dance music, deadly $2
honey liquor shots, awesome dancing, plus a John Waters sighting, all for a
mere $5! It was hands-down the best dance party I’ve been to in Baltimore so
far.

the streets.
Nova’s produces European crusty bread with a soft inside. Bakers blend a
variety of
grains, seeds and herbs into traditional recipes to create breads with the
unique and unforgettable flavors of old Europe.
Over time we have become known for our unique and delicious sandwiches, salads,
artisan catering trays and beautiful gift baskets, all using the highest
quality ingredients we sell in our store. Pastoral also provides cheese to some
of Chicago’s finest restaurants for their cheese plates and culinary creations.
When you first get there, the enterance is to the side where you might see some
shopping carts. It’s a bit awkward and a little more awkward once you get in
because you don’t know what to do. LOL! Half of it is a shop and the other half
is the restaurant. But you’ll be greeted with smiling faces and they’ll ask if
you’re dining and sit you down. Once you’ve got a seat, it’s smooth from there
on.
Absolute gem! I’ve yet to visit under the auspices of anything beyond lunch
specials, but I really dig Swahili Village. I’m all about messing with my taste
buds and giving them a challenge, and SV certainly delivers.
