Restaurant stop #3 on the family road trip. I am automatically skeptical of
places featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” because of my distrust of Guy
Fieri and his overall taste, but this place really surprised me.
Cajun food, the chef is from New Orleans, atmosphere is laid-back and fun.
One of my Spring, Summer, and Fall go to places for clams. So good! There are
two (some may claim there are three) other competitors in the area, but by far
this is my favorite.
My daughter was “STARVING” on our way back from getting our Christmas tree
yesterday so we decided to stop in at the Jefferson Diner…hadn’t been here in
a few years and didn’t even realize it had been on Guy Fieri’s show.
Like many folks, we discovered Jersey’s Cafe thanks to Diners, Drive-Ins &
Dives. We visit family in Indy regularly so made it a point to stop for lunch
last weekend and pay tribute to our Jersey roots.

If you’re heading over to Napa from Healdsburg, or the other way around, make
sure you stop at this place. It’s a bit pricey, but the ingredients are sooo
worth it.
Best pizza in Town. Period. Square. Delicious. Only pizzas close in Bmore are
BOP and Matthew’s, and Pizza Joe’s in Dundalk.
Well…what say? The place is an institution, its been down the street from me
for ever and I have always driven past many a times. I’ve heard my tales of
its greatness and its faults. Today I finally got to experience Joe Tess’ and
saw both its greatness and its faults.
Early Saturday afternoon we were on a mission, and we found ourselves on
Mission Street at Silver Avenue, which is, I believe, the outer Mission, way
beyond Cesar Chavez. Out here one of the few features that stands out is Joe’s
Cable Car, and after months of driving by, My Lady decided to show it to me.
I love having this place in my neighborhood, just a mere 800 steps from my
front door. The menu appeals to everyone, from foodies to Applebee’s addicts.
It’s a unique spot that’s great for taking out of town visitors.
My wife and I don’t even live in the state, but I’ve been there three times
when we would go up to michigan for vacation. We saw the restuarant on Diners,
Drivins, and Dives and had to go.
This is another typical Only-in-New-Orleans, family-style, neighborhood
restaurant. They have all the usual menu options like po-boys, daily specials,
fried seafood dishes, including a huge seafood platter that fed 3 of us.
Best BBQ I’ve ever had! I will never have any other BBQ again. Heard about this
on Diner drive-ins and dives with Guy Fieri. We drove 35 minutes to get here.
If you go looking for this place don’t be worried if you think you are going
the wrong way. It is in a neighborhood. Roll down the windows and let your nose
guide you in.
I love the crazed waiters. I love the owners that come by your table to say
hello and to make sure you are happy. I love the cozy old school ambiance. I
love the food. I love that there is a menu for everyone both vegan and non.
I can see why it has less than desired stars on yelp. The appetizers are always
good, along with the burgers, except the last time i was there, felt like they
SEVERELY skimped out on the chili on our chili cheese fries. I am a chili
cheese snob, and i was not happy. I’d knock a star off for that, but it wasn’t
my first time here.
Being from LA we hadn’t been to one of Guy’s restaurants until this evening &
we brought the whole band & staff there! We were pleasantly surprised & we can
rave about the service & the food.
Two words…. Brick Wings. They rock! Also every time we come here with our
kid we get exemplary service.
