Went with my bf and we both got the buffet. Very reasonably priced..under $20
pp for all u can eat. This included several meats…sides…salad…dessert.
Sweet tea was really good.
Fantastic breakfast, mad respect for the art of the diner and hella cool wait
staff.
Johnny cakes are brilliant but far more impressive is the respect the staff has
for the legacy of their craft.
I tried some of my cousins pozole and it was also great. Lots of flavor and a
lot of meat and hominy. The only problem, well its not really a problem, but
the food coma sets in after eating here. I managed to finish my entire plate
and then proceeded to take a nap.
A few weeks ago, my friend Craig of the blog Memphis Que wrote that he was
having trouble finding places to blog about. Given that his blog’s focus is on
barbecue and Soul Food restaurants, this surprised me. I responded by listing
places that I either experienced or heard great things about. Among the
restaurants mentioned, one of them is head and shoulders above the rest.
My first trip to Pittsburgh, I stayed in Coraopolis and wanted some spaghetti
and the GPS pulled this place up but they were closed that day, but a cute
little place.
A friend from out of town was visiting and wanted to go here after seeing it on
Food Network. I had never heard of it but thought it would be a different
place to try.
Wow! I grew up in Tucson, AZ so I am very particular about this type of food
and take most Mexican restaurants outside of AZ with a grain of salt (no pun
intended). Lone Star is the real deal.
I can’t believe that I forgot about this place! I was first introduced to Los
Tap by my friend almost three years ago and didn’t realize how big of a punch
in the face it was going to be. If commercial Mexican food isn’t your thing,
then come here for some nice home style cooking.
I like others hear about this from DDD, but I wasn’t going to hold that against
it. This place is fantastic having delicious food and reasonable prices. They
have the best Chile Reno Burrito I have had in the area.
Louie Mueller is a perfect example of “less is more.” It will not be
appreciated by the big city clowns who think Dickey’s, Bill Miller’s or Spring
Creek are standards by which to rate BBQ.
Fluffy crabmeat omelettes and grillades and grits for breakfast, catfish
po-boys for lunch.
I have eaten several times at Louies now. For me, the pizza is good but not my
top 5 in Dallas. Yet, my fiance’s family would disagree. I prefer a neopolitan
pizza with really fresh, authentic ingredients.

We stopped in for dinner with about twenty people, and the service was great.
Literally everything was pretty delicious. I had the leg of lamb as my entree,
and it was super tasty and cooked perfectly. I can’t think of anything that I
ate that wasn’t really tasty. Also, unlimited bread and wine!
Gingerbread waffles with hot apples and caramel sauce, topped with whipped
cream & real maple syrup.
Luke’s Inside Out has got (probably) the best sandwiches in town. OK… don’t
judge, but I totally got 3 sandwiches when I went, but I shared it with the
other 2 guys I was with :) We had The Pig, The Shrimp and (I think) The
Rabbit… all of them were so good! Lots of flavor and just the right amount of
meat to bread ratio.
This is no mere roadside eatery. It’s a gourmet wolf in sheep’s clothing. Out
in the middle of nowhere, you might as well be an aggie for anything that looks
like sheep–err, food. Or not. Don’t ever accuse me of going even part aggtard.
Ever.
I first saw this on the Food Network with Guy Fieri and knew I just had to try
some of their fish and chips. Well, this place lived up to its hype!
The food is always yummy though the place is usually crowded. Service is as to
be expected from a small place like that; quick but inattentive.
This place was pretty legit - we were recommended to go here by some locals and
I don’t have a comparison since we didn’t eat any other po boys while in NOLA.
I got a full 12” shrimp, fried green tomatoes and remoulade po boy. Also tried
some friend oysters of our dining companions.
