We’ve been meaning to try this place since forever!! Finally made reservations
for the Chef’s Counter for my bf’s birthday this year and I’m sooo happy we
decided to come here. Our server, Rashelle, was extremely helpful and friendly
from beginning to the end of our meal.
This place has been bookmarked for months and I finally got a day off from work
on a weekday so off to Nic’s I went. I had to circle the block once to figure
out the parking situation because I didn’t want to risk getting towed. Turned
out, there’s a lot next to the building that you can park at.
I haven’t been to Nico’s since they moved to their new location, so I was happy
to get the opportunity to get a Saturday lunch there. The restaurant has just
as much parking as before, but much more seating, including a bar in the
middle. I am not sure if they always have it, but on this particular day they
had live music.
Working nonstop for 24 years, Eleni Fetokakis built her restaurant.
Went there due to its notoriety on Diners Drive ins and Dives and was not
disappointed. First of all, it is a small like other people say, but we go
there at 7:00 on a Sunday and there were a couple open tables so we didn’t have
to wait at all.
This place is a well oiled machine! I’m bummed I didn’t try one of their
sandwiches - but they looked amazing.
Recently stayed in SB and started asking around about where I can get a good
sub sandwich or pastrami. The overwhelming consensus was “Norton’s.” So off I
go.
Go ahead and wander into a magical world of 1970s decor laced with 1950s
dietary habits. This place is only missing cigars, ass-slapping businessmen,
and lots of pomade and this would be a setting for a madmen business luncheon.
My favorite place now. I went there today and I had the Brian special (which is
pretty a surprise - he will cook you whatever he feels like at the moment). I
can easily say it was the best breakfast I ever had. I had to drive about 45
minutes to get there and I dont even care… I will be going back every chance
I get. The staff was very friendly and Brian even came to say “hello” and
cracked a couple of jokes.
Pastrami sandwich and their Piggy’s french fries with thousand island dressing
caramelized onions.
I purchased a groupon for this place, which I had no clue was even located on U
street. To be honest. I have driven past the location on several occasions but
did not think for a minute that there was anything that I would ever want to
eat from out of it. But it is the classic dive spot…not so great on the
atmosphere but the food is definitely a must!
Ortegaz is great. Its small and intimate, the decor is classy and dark. This
is my very favorite place to go for a glass of wine with my wife. And its also
good for going with the whole family.
Pagoda is down the street from his house, and their Chinese food is the best in
North Pole if not the Fairbanks North Star Borough. There’s something about
the food that sets it apart from other Chinese restaurants, in a good way.
Almost seems like the stuff is authentic and well-crafted rather than
run-of-the-mill.
How have I not written a review for Pam’s? I love this delicious unique gem of
a restaurant. I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and even been here
with someone who lived in Jamaica.
On my way through Fairhope I discovered this little place in the French quarter
and couldn’t get enough of it, so when I had the chance to go back I jumped at
it. Couldn’t be happier.
We found this place when we planned a trip to Chicago from Diner’s drive-in’s
and dives. Guy did not disappoint! Featured from the show was a meatball
sandwich, so I got a meatball/sausage combo. It was great, reminiscent of the
kind of stuff I grew up with on the east coast, all aspects of the sandwich
being great. The two people we interacted with were both great, super
friendly.
Parasol’s Restaurant & Bar is on the corner of Third and Constance Streets.
Good enough food. Some really good, some well….good enough. Great vibe in the
bar most the time. Been there a dozen times and only felt like the locals were
creeping one time. Moderate drink prices.
Bakery Fresh Stretch Bread & Spicy Hot Tomato Oil - bread was fresh and chewy,
but not served warm (not a problem); oil had just enough heat to call it spicy,
but wasn’t overly seasoned; this complementary dish makes ordering another
appetizer unnecessary; bought a couple jars of the oil to bring home.
I eat a lot of BBQ. I make a lot of BBQ. I have several smokers and pretty
much every weekend I’ve got something cooking low and slow, trying to perfect
the subjective and un-perfectible craft of BBQ (wait, is un-perfectible a
word?). Even As I type this, I’ve got a dozen hot wings on the smoker.
I’ve had bbq all across the country in some pretty cool joints methinks.
