Courtney L. must be smoking some good good because the sign posted outside the
business CLEARLY states “Cook’s Tortas” - fix your GPS, girl! Jesus wasn’t on
your side that Sunday, for the devil took over your sight and did you wrong.
Enough with the jokes. CLEARLY the tortas here are NO joke. Birthed from the
loins of King Torta on Valley Blvd. and that amazing Torta place that was on
3rd Street/Ditman? - I know a good torta or two. This place met all my
expectations, and…
Clearly, the thing to get (for me, and you, too) at CSG are the sandwiches.
Breakfast, Reuben, mother-in-law, Jawn, Cuban, turkey club, pork roll– these
are my best friends, but my favoritest one is the mother-in-law. That beef and
kimchee and the umami crunch of the roasted broccoli– I get it to relive the
first instance I took a bite. And, yes, the turkey club is my second
favoritest, it is also my hangover cure. I’d pay more than $12 to feel normal,
some mornings. I’ve…
Cute place, simple menu, nice drinks, and fried chicken - i’m sold! and at
brunch you can get chicken and waffles! fried chicken was salty and sweet.
crispy, but not greasy. so delicious…and i had to fight my kid for most of
the waffles.
The Riff’s Fine Street Food truck was the first stop of the day for me at the
2013 Nashville Street Food Awards. I tried a few of their dishes and loved all
of them! I think this is the pinnacle of Food trucks. It was balls to the wall
hot damn goodness!!! Can’t wait to catch up to them again!!
I really LOVE this place. My boyfriend took me here for our very first date and
I knew I had a keeper on my hands ;) I liked this place so much I took my best
friend here for her birthday.
I instantly love restaurants which allow you to make reservations for Sunday
brunches. With a phone call a day earlier, I was able to secure a table for 4
at the time that I wanted to have brunch on a Sunday. Nice , friendly hosts.
The dining area could have easily been someones living room. It was not too
crowded for a Sunday.
I hit the Local Three brunch every Sunday I’m in town. I go to dinner here
about once a month.
I was contacted by a rep from the restaurant and asked to come back. I have to
say, my experience was completely different. I’m going to be a little
skeptical and say that the fact that they invited me back had something to do
with the better experience. With that said, here’s my review of Merchants.
Perla is definitely lively in the evenings, though still rather comfortable and
relaxed for a restaurant that’s almost constantly packed. While the oxblood
colored booths seem regal and very cushioned, the chef’s counter at the back of
the restaurant is where it’s at. Sure, you may not get to socialize with the
bartenders (who make amazing cocktails, btw) such is the case with the front
bar, but the chef’s counter is much more intimate and dare I say, romantic. As…
Pies n Thighs is a magical place where you can get succulent pieces of chicken
with a crispy coat of fried goodness, a buttermilk biscuit peelable layer by
layer and a side for just $13. I’d imagine a plate of fried chicken this good
would cost closer to $20+ as it does in other restaurants, but it doesn’t!
First off, the location and ambiance of this place is great. It’s in a gutted
house that is very industrial looking on the inside. There is a cozy, netted al
fresco dining area that seemed great at nighttime. We got a table in the middle
room right in front of the kitchen, which gave us a view of the upstairs room
and the bar activity.
If I could describe Lucy’s Fried Chicken in one word it would be: *prayer
hands emoji*.
One of the best meals I have ever had - and it was vegan. We came for a
special tasting and it was fantastic. We tried everything:
The smoke broccoli soup was tasty and amazing
Artichoke Rockefeller was sophisticated and hearty
Live thee glazed carrots
Matsuri-taki was my favorite - the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and flavored
Great place for a happy hour! I was here for a special charity happy hour
hosted by the Garces Foundation and had a great time.
WOW” “Amazing” some of the words I used. I am out here from the Bay Area for
the 9ers game and was told to come here. My god the food is crazy good. I would
say this place is worth the flight out here.
This place is off the chain! Their smorgasbord of craft beers are as wholesome
and satisfying as they are diverse.
Hello there Cap’n Crunch pancakes…wanna make out? Oh wait, you just want to
make sweet sweet love in my mouth? Yea, that’s totally cool too.
Actually our second time visiting, this time with our son who can’t stop raving
about the goulash. Excellent food, great wait staff (thanks, Shaun!) and when
they didn’t have the beer he requested they brought him a premium brand on the
house.
I will say I miss the days of ordering my chicken parm from inside Torrissi
Italian Specialties, instead of next door at Parm. That said, Parm is cute
restaurant that still nails chicken parm as well many other Italian treats. I
recommend getting a hero, it is 12 dollars and should fill you right up. But
if you have room, I highly recommend the ice cream cake, as it is totally
amazing.
Cheap and delicious. Service is fast. I came here just before they closed down
and I ordered the crispy chicken wrap with a side of garlic noodles and
devoured both quickly before succumbing to the food coma that made work an
afterthought.
