I got a gift certificate to this spot for my birthday and we finally got the
chance to go tonight. It worked out very well; it was our 5 year anniversary!
I read that we’d need a reservation so I called and made an early Saturday
evening time.
I love dive bars so this place gets 5 stars from me because it is about as
divey as they come. It reminds me a lot of the old Red 7 before it went
through a fancy make-over.
I love going to Bennett’s Ice Cream, because the fresh ice cream is delicious
and the service is down home and friendly. This is an old-fashioned ice cream
stand in the best sense of the word. The home made ice cream comes in an
incredible selection of flavors, (the mint chip is to die for) and the ice
cream scooping staff will be only too happy to give you some sample tastes.
Located in the classic old Farmer’s Market at 3rd & Fairfax, you’ll find
Bennett’s at the…
If you’re visiting DC, pleeeease do yourself a favor and make a reservation at
this place. The food, drinks, service, and ambience were OUT OF THIS WORLD. We
arrived at 6pm on a Saturday with no reservation expecting to be turned away,
but we got lucky and landed a spot at the full-service dining bar.
What better way to spend Saturday dinner among close friends and delicious
nouveau American cuisine at Boundary Road! The place is warm and inviting, with
exposed brick walls and rustic, simple furniture. We came in as a party of
three and ordered two appetizers, the PB&J fois gras and a pasta dish with
scallops.
This establishment will leave you full, satisfied, a feeling of time well
spent, and certainly leave you wanting more! Cheap food. Wait that’s not
accurate… Inexpensive, insanely low priced food. Food that is so seasoned
and cooked to delicious perfection you will most certainly crave things from
this restaurant. Born and raised near St Louis, I visit every chance I get
(even though now I live a thousand miles away). I visit family often, and no
trip home is complete without Fast…
Located in the farmers market at the grove, it’s one of the food booths in the
front. They serve up many different kind of hot dogs. They pride themselves
in no snouts, no tails, no added nitrates, and no mechanically separated meat.
Garage Bar is housed in a former auto service garage in downtown Louisville’s
vibrant East Market or NuLu neighborhood. A nod to its roots as a historic
saloon, Garage Bar serves up ice cold draft and bottled craft beers, Kentucky
Bourbons, seasonal cocktails and wine. The casual neighborhood spot features
Chef Michael Paley’s pizzas from a wood-fired brick oven and Southern
specialties, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.
I would come here more often if I weren’t a poor student. Prime location for
future special occasions and the like!
It never fails, when I come home to visit it is a must to come to Morris’. Most
of their meats are smoked in house, the sides and soups are made in house as
well. There is a great selection of chips, beverage and soups. Sandwiches are
made to order and you can get basically any sandwich you want! The chicken
salad is so yummy I almost slap myself.
Now that I’ve moved away from Owensboro I crave Old Hickory even more! Their
barbecue is the best I’ve ever had. It doesn’t matter what type of meat you get
there, it is ALL delicious. My favorites are the chopped mutton and the
barbecued chicken but occasionally we get the sliced turkey.
A friend of mine wanted to check this out for lunch instead of eating the
conference food. So, we trecked several blocks and found the restaurant to be a
bit “Artsy”? Not complaining though.
The service was absolutely wonderful. The host and waiter were very nice. I
ordered the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad (w/o anchovies). It was delicious! The
salad wasn’t drowning in dressing. You’ll also be asked if you’d like some
bread–delish. Oh, and my friend had…
I’ve been coming here since about the time they opened and I’ve never had a bad
experience. It’s just a hair more upscale than the other places in the Gallery
Place area, and it might seem a little more expensive, but it’s absolutely
worth the good service and stiff drinks.
Amazing food! Chicken liver and eggs….yup! Food, service and price all 5
star. Only problem is there are a bunch of eagles fans that work here. If you
wear your cowboys gear be prepared to hear about it!
Wagner’s has been a staple for many Louisville folks for years and it is worth
the trip to get some of the best biscuits and gravy around. Prices are cheap
and if you like breakfast, you’re gonna love this place. The people that work
there are as friendly as can be and you’ll get a perfectly cooked egg every
time, any way you like it. If you go early, you will see lots of “horse
people”.
The best thing about Woody’s is that we are
specialized. We focus on Bar-B-Que only.
Our product is cooked fresh daily. Our meat goes from the Pit to the steam
tables, and out the door to our customers
Perhaps the best meal I’ve ever eaten. Delicious, beautifully presented, and
perfect portions. The amuse trio was fabulous, especially the BLT, and the
chocolate mousse dessert was to die for. Fantastic service, and adorable
setting!
Fusion food from North to South America is the resident forte here otherwise
known as Pan-American cuisine. The restaurant delivers quite the ambiance with
modern/contemporary in earth tones and a touch of rustic. The high ceilings
add space and grandeur to the glory of Bocanova!
A cute little gastropub in downtown Oakland, more than a bit of a walk from
Jack London Square (and given the area, it isn’t ill-advised to drive instead
of walk there).
I ordered the salmon omelet which was full of flavor! It comes w. a side and I
ordered the fruit and it was so good. There was a mix of mango, jack fruit,
sweet melons and figs. I don’t know any other place that offers exotic sweet
fruit.
